  • Wake up with this delicious cup of coffee.
Planted, harvested and roasted in San Ignacio, Cajamarca.
  • 100% organic and peruvian product.

The coffee

Our coffee grows in the peruvian jungle at 1700 metres above sea level. Arabic type of coffee from the blend of Katimor, Caturra, Paches plants. Strong smell with low acidity. It has a strong flavour in a chocolate kind of way, dark brown colored. It keeps its true essence up to the last zip, without leaving any sediments inside the cup. Tasted and ranked 84 in the cup.

Cafe

Producing our coffee

Rikchari is the blend of three types of plant. We don’t use fertilizers nor chemicals that damage our product. After our selective harvest (picking the most mature beans), we carry out the pulping of the grain. Next, the coffee is fermented and we proceed to wash it. We use a solar drying system that lasts approximately 15 days. Finally, coffee beans are roasted until they acquire a medium/dark color.

Branding, packaging and awards

When we created Rikchari, we wanted our brand to be a reflection of the entire essence of Peru. From using a word in Quechua to having a package that evokes the land, nature and origin of the place where the coffee grows.

We work hand in hand with Planetario, Creativity and Communication Studio, to ensure that the design of our logo and packaging reflects who we are, the quality of our product and the importance we give to the design and presentation of the brand. Thanks to this joint work, in the edition of the Latin American Design Awards our packaging and logo obtained third place in the category of best design.

Our purpose

Our goal is to be a brand with purpose and help diminish one of Chirino’s biggest problems: teenage pregnancy.

We hope that by giving a % of our sale’s profit we can create an educational project with the girls at those schools in order to empower, inspire and educate them so that they learn they have possibilities whilst reducing the number of teenage mums in the area.
Our purpose

Our story

During the 60’s, “El Naranjal”, Magaly’s family farm that used to cultivate oranges in a town located in San Ignacio, Cajamarca did the same as other farms during that time: they too started to grow coffee.

50 years have passed ever since that town, Chirinos, the place where our coffee grows also became part of a very well known peruvian area that specializes in growing coffee.
